The Red Devils have again splashed the cash as they seek to start re-building the team for now and future seasons.

According to reports, Manchester United have agreed on a deal that will bring Radamel Falcao to Old Trafford on a permanent basis.

The Red Devils opted to spend €8 million to bring the 28-year-old attacker in from Ligue 1 and it will cost the 20-time Premier League winners €56 million to sign him from Monaco for good.

Currently one of the highest earners at the club, the former Atletico Madrid and Porto striker has scored one goal in five games so far for Louis Van Gaal, but missed out on a crucial clash with Chelsea last weekend due to injury.

After missing out on the World Cup due to an unfortunate knee injury, Falcao has been keen on regaining his fitness as quickly as possible, and it is this very injury that had Manchester United wary of signing him on a permanent basis on Deadline Day.

While they have signed off on the pricey deal, the same report indicates that it is all contingent on the player staying healthy during the course of his loan deal and naturally Louis Van Gaal's satisfaction with his overall performance.

Should that come to pass, they can then activate the clause to switch him from a temp to a permanent player in the summer of 2015, and certainly the player and club will hope that comes to fruition.
