Despite receiving full backing from club owner Silvio Berlusconi, the Spanish striker is yet to play a full 90 minutes for the Serie A side, making only six appearances for the Rossoneri

Fernando Torres has admitted to being unhappy with the lack of playing time handed to him at his current side AC Milan after making his summer transfer window shift to Italy.

On a two-season loan from Chelsea, the former Liverpool star has made only six appearances for the Rossoneri, currently sitting in sixth place in Serie A, scoring only once, and is yet to complete a full 90 minutes for his new side.

With Japanese attacker Keisuke Honda in fine form for Filippo Inzaghi's side, scoring 6 goals in 8 outings (as per Whoscored), Torres has found his role at AC Milan under threat despite receiving full backing from club owner Silvio Berlusconi.

“Personally, I’m feeling better every day,” Torres stated. “I’m adapting to a new league. This week we are playing three games and the coach said that he would have needed everybody and in this game I had to start from the bench.

“This is part and parcel of the challenge though because I haven’t come here just to pass the time, but because I want to leave my mark."

Scoring on his AC Milan debut, Fernando Torres has failed to find the net for the Rossoneri since then, and has come across difficulty nailing down guaranteed playing time at San Siro

The Italian politician marched into the dressing room during the interval in the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Sunday to personally see through that the Spaniard was introduced into the game for the San Siro encounter.

Making a 10-minute cameo, Inzaghi, a former player turned coach, is now under pressure to start Torres in AC Milan's next game, an away clash with Cagliari on Wednesday.

La Furia Roja ace, once a feared goalscorer during his time at Anfield, underwent a torrid spell at Stamford Bridge in which 110 appearances saw the 30-year-old manage only 20 goals. However, Torres claims to still be proud of what he achieved in England, whilst insisting that he is keen on helping AC Milan return to European football.

“I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in Spain and in England in my career and I’d like things to go likewise in Italy too. We hope to build another great Milan side and play again in Europe. I will give everything and hope that will take me back into the national side.”
