According to reports, the Italian international could make a swift exit from Anfield as early as January.

Although he just arrived, Mario Balotelli has found it hard to find his footing in his second spell in England.

The 24-year-old was signed by Liverpool for £16 million as Brendan Rodgers sought to find a replacement for the outgoing Luis Suarez.

However, his new attacker hasn't worked out as planned. Balotelli is yet to score in the Premier League and has just one goal in all competitions so far.

His antics haven't endeared him to supporters. First there was refusing to applaud the traveling fans and then a shirt swapping incident that enraged many Reds fans, who feel that the Italian is not pulling his weight on the pitch.

So, now reports from his home country not surprisingly have linked him with yet another return to Serie A. The team in question is apparently Napoli and the Partenopei are prepared to fork out £10 million as early as January.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this rumor and if so, would Balotelli be a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who was recently linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool.
