Cagliari will hope to keep improving as they welcome Milan on Wednesday, October 29th. Find out where to watch the match online & on TV here.

On Sunday, Milan missed out on a good chance to move into third place after being held to a 1-1 draw by Fiorentina, who have struggled so far this season. Nigel De Jong's header was not enough to prevent the Viola from leaving the San Siro with a point and overall, save for the goalscorer, the Rossoneri's performance was poor. 15 attempts with just two on goal is a quite disappointing return for Filippo Inzaghi's side who are hoping to play in the Champions League next season after last campaign's failures.

While Fiorentina didn't do much better, with 13 shots, two on goal, and one conversion, it still prevented the Diavolo from picking up a much needed three points at home. Fernando Torres had a decent chance to put them ahead late in the game but unfortunately chose the spectacular over simplicity that resulted in Milan fans not knowing to laugh or groan in frustration. The 30-year-old will be feeling the pressure as he has just netted once since arriving on a two-year loan from Chelsea this past summer.

Others who wll need to step it up include Jeremy Menez, who after a blistering start has fallen into a rut and Stephan El Shaarawy, who was injured for most of last season but now is healthy and needs to get going. Top goalscorer Keisuke Honda would have been disappointed not to find the back of the net on Sunday being that he is in excellent form and he will definitely be hoping to add to his total against Cagliari.

Although seven points currently divide the two, Milan will not want to take the Rossoblu for granted. Under new coach Zdenek Zeman, although they have just a brace of wins so far, one of them was a 4-1 result over the Diavolo's cross-town rivals Inter and they thrashed Empoli 4-0 in their fixture from this past weekend. Their 13 goals so far are quite respectable as they have just one less than second-placed Roma. However, just like their opponents, they have been very suspect at the back and have conceded 11 goals from their first octet of games.

Last season, Milan won both the home and away fixtures by an aggregate score of 5-2. In fact, one will have to go all the way back to over 16 years ago in October 1998 to find the last time the Rossoblu were able to beat their visitors, but given the unpredictable nature of football, anything can happen in this match.
