QPR vs Liverpool will go live in the Premier League this weekend at the Loftus Road on Sunday, the 19th of October.

The Reds have won just two of their last five matches in all competitions and will be looking for three points on Sunday. Much of the media focus had been on youngster Raheem Sterling who had reportedly informed his international team manager Roy Hodgson of his tiredness but Brendan Rodgers has defended his young star who is expected to feature during Sunday's encounter.

Daniel Sturridge however has faced a set back and is expected to be on the sidelines for a couple of weeks after he suffered a calf injury during a training session. The former Chelsea star who has been missing since the 30th of August was expected to make his return for the trip to Loftus Road but will now miss competitive football for an extended period as confirmed by his manager.

"Daniel has pulled his calf," said Rodgers. "He's looking at being out for another two to four weeks."

"It's a big blow as we were looking forward to welcoming Daniel back. He has worked tirelessly.

"But we have other players training hard and working hard and we will turn to them. It's why we bulked up the squad in the summer."

Liverpool have failed to carry the momentum to the new season after finishing the last campaign in exemplary fashion, the Reds remained forerunners for the title for a large part of the season but in the end conceded defeat to eventual winner Manchester City. The Merseyside outfit did pick a win over West Brom before the international break but will be looking to produce a better performance having won just three of the seven league matches they have played so far.

They will however be without the likes of  Dejan Lovren (abdominal) and Mamadou Sakho (thigh) in defence but the former still has a chance to feature on Sunday. Liverpool will welcome back summer signing Emre Can as well as Joe Allen back to the squad.

Harry Redknapp's position as the head coach of QPR has come under jeopardy following their poor start to the season. The Hoops are currently rock bottom of the league table and have been defeated five times in their opening seven games. Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood is a likely candidate to take over the QPR hot seat but Redknapp has insisted that he has the backing of owner Tony Fernandes.

QPR's starting XI: McCarthy, Onuoha, Dunne, Caulker, Isla, Suk-Young, Fer, Henry, Sandro, Zamora, Austin

Liverpool's starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren, Enrique, Gerrard, Henderson, Can, Lallana, Sterling, Balotelli
