Man City vs Tottenham will be the standout fixture in the Barclays Premier League as the champions face a tricky tie at home.

Spurs endured frustrating outings when they faced the defending champions last season in the Premier League. The North London side was drubbed 6-0 when they visited the Etihad and were at the receiving end of a 5-1 mauling at home at the hands of the Citizens.

However Mauricio Pochettino who took over the Tottenham hot seat in the summer is confident that his team can build upon their encouraging 1-0 win over Southampton in their last outing.

"We arrive in a good moment. After our victory against Southampton we need to keep the momentum, to reproduce the same actions and to try to get the three points," said the Argentinean.

"It's not important now to think in the past. It's important to look forward. I don't have any concerns about these results [in last season's matches against City]."

The former Southampton boss further singled out his compatriot Sergio Aguero for praise claiming that the former Atletico Madrid man is currently the best striker in the world also insisting that Spurs will have to keep him quiet to get anything out of the match.

"When he plays it's like classical music, he's unbelievable, the best striker in the world," Pochettino said.

"I think seriously, like Mozart. Mozart is positive and Beethoven is a little more crazy."

"For me he is the best. (Lionel) Messi is not a striker, (Cristiano) Ronaldo is not a striker, Aguero is a classical striker, he has everything a striker should have.

"I'm not biased, it's just because he's the best.

"But we need to make the game difficult to avoid him having the possibility to score against us."

City currently second in the league table will be without playmaker Samir Nasri (groin) whereas Brazilian international Fernandinho picked up a hamstring injury in the match against Aston Villa and might not feature on Saturday.

Hugo Lloris (thigh) and Nacer Chadli (hip) who have been impressive for Tottenham this season are major doubts for the match but a late fitness test will determine their availability. Full backs Kyle Naughton (ankle) and Kyle Walker (pelvis) meanwhile are certain to miss the big match.

City have not been their mesmerizing selves at home so far in the league having dropped points in two of their opening three games including a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke but will be confident of three points on Saturday having performed admirably against Spurs last season.
