The Magpies will keep Chieck Tiote and Papiss Cisse under medical surveillance, having travelled to African soil in this International break.

Newcastle United coach Alan Pardew stated earlier today the club will take preventive measures against the Ebola virus, since two of their key players recently travelled to Africa. Cheick Tiote and Papiss Cisse will be kept under medical surveillance to prevent any risk of exposure to the virus.

"We would be naive not to have concerns. They are essential to us and our doctor has looked into the problems that might arise, and we want protection for them and to make sure we do our very best to help them in case they need it," Pardew told the press.

Tioté played two games for Ivory Coast's team against the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Senegal had a go against Tunisia.

Several players and coaches are concerned about the possible spread of this disease. Just this morning, the Moroccan Football Federation declined hosting the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations due to the epidemic.
