The Spanish International stated he has never thought of leaving the National team, and he even sees himself taking part of the Euro 2016.

After receiving harsh criticism for his recent performances with Spain's National Team, Iker Casillas spoke about all the heat he has been taking from fans and media on whether he should step aside and give another goalkeeper his spot. Real Madrid's icon -where he has been in the center of controversy as well- revealed during a press conference he still thinks he has what it takes to help the Spanish qualify for Euro 2016:

"To this day, I still see myself helping my country earning a spot in that tournament. I want to stay as long as the coach wants me to. But I'm aware that De Gea and Casilla are top performers and will want their opportunity," Casillas told during the press event.

The seasoned goalkeeper remains a true people person, despite all the pressure that's piled upon him recently. Iker spoke about the so called pressure and how he sees his relationship with Spain's fans:

"When you play that much time for Real Madrid and Spain, people will want the best of you, because that's what you have given before. You have to keep up with your work and hope you can silence criticism on the pitch. I will never go against my fans because I love them, and I just hope I can meet them at Cibeles fountain when all the tournaments are over," the goalkeeper added.

Casillas also had time to look into Real Madrid's season so far, particularily their current campaign in the UEFA Champions League:

"The match against Liverpool will be as tough as it can get, because if we win, we are almost classified to the next round. We have to play our best football to avoid any surprises just like in Bulgaria," Casillas said.
