The Spanish player was on the verge of coming back with Bayern Munich, but the club informed today he came down with another injury to his knee.

Bayern Munich's Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara will need another surgery after coming down with a new injury to his right knee, the club revealed today. The 23-year old player injured himself while training, and his possible return has yet to be determined. Alcantara injured his knee in March, requiring surgery in May. He recently returned to the training sessions with Pep Guardiola's team.

After getting hold of the sad news, Thiago spoke to the team's website:

"What can I say? I'm deeply saddened and desperate. Why always me? But I won't back down, I will fight to make a comeback, and when the time comes, I'll celebrate with my Bayern Munich teammates," Alcantara stated.

Since his signing with Bayern in 2013, Thiago has only been able to take part in 16 matches with the current German champions. Sports VP Matthias Sammer spoke about the matter:

"We are all saddened and shocked by this news. We were really excited to have Thiago back with us after such a long time, and now we will have to wait again," Sammer told the press.

Thiago joins a list of injured players that includes Bastian Schweinsteiger, Holger Badstuber and Javi Martinez. The club also informed French international Franck Ribery re-joined Bayern's training sessions, but his comeback may have to wait.
