The Brazilian striker took things to a whole new level in trying to buy a free-kick from the referee.

Football fans have all seen players do anything to try to get a free kick, or more often than not, a penalty.

Some are more prone to do so than others, irritating supporters of the opposing team while the player's fans make excuses or, in some cases, the more mature ones even have grudgingly admitted that their favorite footballer tends to go to ground too easily.

However, a Brazilian player took things to a whole new level by doing something that one probably has never seen before.

Leandro Damiao, a 25-year-old attacker, was so desperate to be given a free kick during his side's 3-0 loss to Criciuma that he actually tugged his own jersey to fool the referee to believe that he had been fouled.

Epic fail: The Santos striker was lucky not to receive a yellow for this blatant act of simulation

Fortunately for him, the referee either didn't notice it or thought it was so absurd that it wasn't even worth a warning.
