Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi revealed Carlo Ancelotti recommended some players for their current squad, including former Real Madrid keeper Diego Lopez.

After congratulating Carlo Ancelotti for his Champions League title with Real Madrid, former Italian Prime Minister and AC Milan's owner Silvio Berlusconi revealed "Carletto" helped them out with some of their summer transfers such as Diego Lopez, who played last season under Ancelotti:

"He has been one of our counselors this summer. He was very close with me and Adriano Galliani, he even shared his thoughts about our intentions to sign Jeremy Menez and Diego Lopez," Berlusconi stated in a lenghty interview.

Regarding the club's chances this year, AC Milan's owner expects his club to bring back their glory days with Filippo Inzaghi as their head coach:

"We have renovated our squad, we made more changes than Juventus or Roma, and we hope it turns out fine for us on the long run. We want to regain our spot in our country, in Europe and in the world. Filippo works with the only purpose of winning, and we think he is the right one to lead us back to greatness," Berlusconi added.
