Unbeaten Premier League contenders Chelsea are yet to be truly tested, Manchester City’s David Silva claims.

In the English Premier League, the Citizens are currently the Blues’ closest rivals. However, there is still a five-point gap separating both teams. Southampton are surprisingly third with 13 points while Manchester United possess 11 points like Swansea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Could Chelsea dethrone Man City come May 2015? Spanish midfielder David Silva believes that the EPL title race could soon prove tougher for Jose Mourinho’s side.

He was speaking to the press in the aftermath of Spain’s 4-0 demolition of minnows Luxembourg, when he declared:

“Chelsea have made great transfers, they have a great team, a great squad. But it doesn't mean things are going to be easy, especially in England.”

Chelsea failed to hold on to a 1-0 lead when they clashed against the reigning Premier League champions, this season. In dramatic fashion, ex-Blue Frank Lampard equalized for Man City.

Still, Jose Mourinho and his men have a perfect record at Stamford Bridge in the EPL. They will face Crystal Palace on Matchday 8 away from home.

By the time the Blues get their game underway, Manchester City could close the gap to a single point at the top of the table; that’s if the Citizens manage to hit 18 points by defeating Spurs at the Etihad Stadium during Saturday’s early kick-off.
