Valdes has been sidelined since March due to an injury to one of his knees. The 32-year old would be arriving as a free agent to Brendan Rodgers' squad

At long last, Victor Valdes may have his near future solved. The former Barcelona goalkeeper may end up signing with Liverpool after coming down with an injury that prevented him of playing in this summer's World Cup.

According to reports, Valdes will undergo a medical examination on his knee prior to his signing with the Reds. The player previously had an agreement to join French side Monaco, but it was determined he was not 100% recovered from his injury.

With the Spanish keeper's signing, Liverpool would add options for their net's defense. Belgian Simon Mignolet has not been as trustworthy as Reds' fans would like, and Valdes' arrival to Anfield Road may provide some security in the box.

Valdes' resume includes three UEFA Champions League trophies, along with six La Liga titles. He was also the backup goalkeeper for Spain during World Cup 2010, which they eventually won against The Netherlands after extra time.
