The Ligue 1 champions confirmed their Swedish striker will miss the crucial Champions League tie against his former employers

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out of the French side's mouthwatering Champions League clash with Catalan giants Barcelona.

The Swedish talisman, who missed out on Les Parisiens last two Ligue 1 games, has been suffering from a heel injury, and tests revealed the 32-year-old will not be fit in time for the Parc de Princes encounter, on Tuesday.

Further tests on the Swedish striker's left heel revealed he would not be fit in time for Tuesday's game

This news comes after the former Inter Milan striker hinted that former coach Pep Guadiola cost him a shot at winning his first Champions League medal during the two's time at Camp Nou, back in the 2010-11 season.

"We had the best team in the world, that's for certain," the Swede stated. "But we failed in our quest for the Champions League because of the bad decisions of certain people."

This will come as a huge blow for the the Ligue 1 champions as Laurent Blanc's side have been struggling to hit form, failing to regain their title-winning form in France's top-flight, recording only three wins in their first eight games.

Paris Saint-Germain, who reached the Champions League quarter-finals last season, began this campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Ajax, but now face the daunting task of hosting Luis Enrique's high-flying side.

The Blaugrana are enjoying a wonderful start to La Liga, winning five out of their first six games, kicking off their European campaign with a 1-0 over Apoel Nicosiand, and are yet to concede a goal.

Other doubts for Paris Saint-Germain's key tie include club captain Thiago Silva and Argentine attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi.
