Fueled by the rivalry between their coaches, Santos and America face each other on September 26,2014 in Matchday 10 of the Apertura 2014 tournament

One of the most exciting matches this week in Liga MX is, without a doubt, the one that faces Santos and Club America. This week's matchup will have several ingredients that will make it more interesting for the team's fans, media and all around football fans.

On the first time America and Santos met this year, Las Aguilas started with a bang, earning an early advantage of 2-0, but Santos rallied back with four uncontested goals to win the game. But the most complicated moments were months away.

Santos and America faced each other in the Clausura 2014 playoffs. In the first leg, America came back from a 3-1 score to win it at Azteca Stadium 5-3. While on their way to the dressing rooms, coaches Pedro Caixinha(Santos) and Antonio Mohamed(America) fought each other, since Caixinha thought Mohamed was mocking his team while celebrating America's last goal that day. On the second leg of the series, Santos managed to eliminate America with an aggregate score of 6-6, advancing on away goals.

Before this tournament started, America managed to sign Santos' idol, no other than Oribe Peralta. Paying 10 million dollars for his services, Peralta will return to his hometown with America, adding a little more controversy to this pairing.

During this final week, Caixinha and Mohamed gave press statements criticizing each other. Mohamed even stated he won't greet Caixinha since on their last meeting, the Portuguese coach disrespected his staff and himself. The European coach blamed referees for America's first place, claiming Las Aguilas have been helped in almost every match this season with controversial plays favoring them. Will Mohamed's men hold their first place, or will Caixinha's crew extend their dominance over Las Aguilas?
