The love story between Manchester United fans and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken another crazy twist. There’s a new campaign to bring CR7 back to Old Trafford.

“United Reel”, a global Manchester United Supporters Club, is fancying its chances of tempting Ronaldo to end his Real Madrid career sooner rather than later.

One too many times, the 29-year-old Portuguese superstar has seduced Red Devil fans by saying that he has not closed doors to an Old Trafford return. In his most recent interview concerning his career, however, Ronaldo insisted that his future is at Real Madrid as “it doesn’t make sense” to talk about Man United transfer rumours.

Still, Manchester United fans (members of United Reel in particular), are not giving up on bringing Ronaldo back home. In a press release issued on Thursday, United Reel officially confirmed its plan to fly a banner over El Madrigal. Part of the declaration revealed:

“Members from all over the world have donated their own money and resources to fund a mid-game message, flown by plane during the upcoming Villarreal vs Real Madrid football match in a bid to demonstrate to Cristiano Ronaldo how much the United Faithful still love and support him.”

It is reported in the English media that the plane operation costs nearly £3,000. The founder and coordinator of United Reel also added a message, stating:

“United Reel has active supporters on every continent of the world and we are all united by our love for Cristiano both as a football player and as a person. We stand united in our views and we won’t stop until we bring Ronaldo home!”

On their website, United Reel stated that they “are leading a joint international effort to bring Cristiano Ronaldo home to Old Trafford.”

They added: “Join us on Saturday 27th September where we show Cristiano how much the fans still love him. Watch this space.”

UNITED REEL follow their affiliates MUSC Egypt, MUSC UAE and MUSC Lebanon on Twitter as they all represent official supporters club of the Red Devils in the countries mentioned. As of September 25, United Reel’s Twitter account counts less than 1,000 followers and only seven tweets. Numbers are expected to shoot as their daring #BringRonaldoHome campaign gains more momentum.
