Cristiano Ronaldo had some bad news for Manchester United fans who are already trying to recover from the unimaginable 5-3 collapse against Leicester City, last Sunday.

During the past two or three weeks, Manchester United fans have been dreaming of a return for former Red Devil star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese press revealed that CR7 was unhappy at the way Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had managed the squad during this summer's transfer window. In the English media, Ronaldo's statements instantly fueled rumors of a sensational switch back to Manchester United where supporters still adore him.

However, just like it happened several times in recent years, the Ballon d'Or titleholder himself has poured water on the burning hopes of Mancunian fans. Cristiano Ronaldo was speaking to reporters in the aftermath of his four-goal feat against Elche when he bluntly declared:

“All these news about my future are just speculation. My future is Real Madrid. I am very happy, while the season is going very well. For my future, I don’t want to talk about it. It doesn't make sense.”

So what happened to Ronaldo's sweet response, "You never know", when quizzed recently about a possible transfer back to Manchester United? "Conditions" might be the answer.

As of now, Real Madrid are regaining confidence whereas Man United are yet to recover from Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. The Reds Devils' unbelievable 5-3 loss to Leicester City last weekend best sums up their embarrassing situation.

On the contrary,  Los Blancos are flying high again after stumbling against Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. They've won each of their last three games in all competitions, scoring 18 goals with 8 of those netted by CR7.

Against Elche, the home crowd at the Bernabeu chanted "Cristiano Ronaldo Ballon d'Or"; that's exactly the kind of thing the Portuguese superstar loves to hear. As long as the Merengues team continues to respond to his game and as long as he keeps smashing records in Spain, there will certainly be no reason for Ronaldo to quit for a side like Man United where stability is yet to be achieved under new manager Louis van Gaal.

However, if tables turn and the Red Devils reach the skies again, fans may one more time hear Ronaldo comment on talks of an Old Trafford return by declaring: "You never know."

SWEET TALK: Going back to early August, when Ronaldo last refused to rule out a return to Manchester United
