After a poor performance against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, Arsenal fans were far from happy. Fortunately for them, a much better performance at Villa Park earned them their second Premier League victory this season, and a lot more confidence ahead of today's Capital One Cup match.
The Gunners will welcome Southampton to the Emirates for their fifth meeting in this competition. With the Gunners having won the previous four, Ronald Koeman's side has it all to do tonight.
Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that Abou Diaby will start, while the Frenchman could also send out a few more youngsters.
Chuba Akpom, Isaac Hayden, Semi Ajayi and Hector Bellerin will all be available, and Wenger would love to give them a run out. Not wanting to make too many changes could be challenging, knowing that the team could lose some chemistry.
Southampton will be uninterested as to who starts the match for the hosts.
Ronald Koeman has enjoyed success with the Saints since his arrival, and tonight his side can make it five consecutive victories in all competitions, which would be their best streak in over three years.
The Dutch manager has already said he isn't interested in resting players, and if someone is fit, they will play.
