West Ham took off early with two goals in the first ten minutes. Winston Reid and Diafra Sakho scored for the Hammers, giving fans at Boleyn Ground reason to believe. Raheem Sterling scored for Liverpool before the first half ended, leaving room for a possible comeback for the "Reds".

After the break, Liverpool had some chances to equalize, but failed to inscribe another goal. In the dying seconds of the game, Morgan Amalfitano scored the final goal for The Hammers, whose fans will surely be "blowin' bubbles in the air".
