The Premier League will feature a blockbuster fixture this weekend as Chelsea make a trip to Eastlands where they face defending champions Manchester City on Sunday, the 21st of September.

The two sides went neck and neck last season but it was City who ultimately clinched the title. However Chelsea have started this season better and as things stand, the Blues are the forerunners to win the title, currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table having picked maximum points from the four matches they have played so far.

The Citizens on the other hand have had a difficult run of fixtures and have so far managed to win just a single point from their last two games. Man City faced Arsenal in their last Premier League encounter a match they drew 2-2 with the Gunners. This was followed by a Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich which Pellegrini’s men lost 1-0.

Spanish playmaker David Silva who has started this season brightly has insisted that his side must win Sunday’s tie if they are to defend their title.

"It is a very important game," Silva said. "They are first in the league and have more points than us. We can't lose on Sunday and let that gap get any bigger so it is a very important game."

"It is early in this stage, it's still a long way to go in the Premier League and anything can happen [but] yes, we need to win on Sunday because otherwise the gap will start to get too big.”

"I think Chelsea have made fantastic signings this year ... but we are a strong team. We've got a big team so as always we've got to go out there and win the game."

Chelsea on the other hand have started the new season in ravishing form and are currently undefeated since their 3-1 win over Burnley on the opening day. Chelsea’s new Spanish stars Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have been the cornerstone of everything good which has happened with the club so far.

Diego Costa has already struck seven times in the league and the former Atletico man will be looking to extend his tally when Chelsea face their stiffest challenge so far. Fabregas on the other hand has six assists to his name in just four league games and got on the score sheet for the first time in Chelsea colors when he scored the opener against Schalke.
