The Brazilian striker will not be able to play until February 22, 2015.

The 34-year old Brazilian striker Brandao has been handed a six-month suspension after head butting Thiago Motta, following the match between Bastia and French champion Paris Saint-Germain last month.

During the match held August 16, Brandao was substituted, but he waited inside the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms to argue with Motta. When Motta approached, Brandao instantly head-butted the Italian international, who's nose was fractured. PSG won the match 2-0, and some Bastia players accused Motta of provoking Brandao throughout the game.

The player was placed on temporary suspension right away, and will be able to play on February 22, 2015 despite PSG's President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, demanded a life-long penalty to be imposed on the player.

Brandao signed a one year loan deal with the club coached by Claude Makelele, but according to rumors, Corsican club officials were considering to cut the deal short if a heavy ban was laid down.
