Real Madrid seems to have forgotten their recent outings in La Liga, starting their UEFA Champion's League title defense with a bang, after thrashing FC Basel 5-1.
Following an own goal by Marek Suchy, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo gave Los Blancos a comfortable lead against the Swiss side, before Derlis Gonzalez put Basel's goal on the scoreboard.
After the halftime break and with Real Madrid dominating possession, Karim Benzema scored the fifth goal of the evening for Ancelotti's crew, earning the first three points in this UEFA Champions League edition.
Following a not so good start in La Liga, Cristiano Ronaldo can celebrate his second place in the all-time scoring list, after surpassing Filippo Inzaghi's record of 70 goals scored in Europe's top competition.
Fans all over the world were delighted by Real Madrid's display, knowing there's more work to do to get back where the club belongs.
