The Colombian midfielder hopes to earn his first cap as a Real Madrid player tomorrow, when Los Blancos face FC Basel for Group B of the UEFA Champions League

After a tough start for Real Madrid in La Liga, losing two out of three matches, Los Blancos will face Basel for Matchday One of the UEFA Champions League. One of this summer's biggest transfers, Colombian James Rodriguez, states the team knows they've had a bad start, but will try to start turning things around this Tuesday:

"We are not playing the way we would want to, but we have some quality players to get out of this situation. We still can make things change for us, and tomorrow we will have a nice chance to start turning things around for us," Rodriguez stated.

Regarding his below average performance so far, the Colombian requested media to give him some time to adapt:

"The best James Rodriguez is yet to come. I just want to train and play according to my skills. Each day that goes by I'm getting better and better, I'll try to get to my top level as soon as possible. Tomorrow I'll fulfill my childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid in a UEFA Champions League match, and I will try my best to give something back to Real Madrid fans," Rodriguez added.

Real Madrid will try to become the first European squad to win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles under the current format.
