Good news for Barcelona fans and lovers of nail-biting football as El Clasico will feature Luis Suarez on October 25, 2014!

The time and date of the 2014/15 La Liga season’s first Clasico was confirmed around 8:30 EST by the LFP. A statement on their website read:

“It will be on Saturday, October 25 at 18:00 (local time) at the Santiago Bernabéu, a match scheduled to take place on Week 9 of the best league in the world.”

Ever since Luis Suarez left Liverpool to sign for Barcelona, the public wondered about his eligibility to face Real Madrid in October, the month when Luis Suarez’s ban ends. Today, the Uruguayan striker can breathe a sigh of relief as the Court of Arbitration for Sport announced that the player’s ban will be over on Friday, October 24, 2014.

Initially, it was widely reported that Suarez's punishment would end on October 25th, meaning that he would have been unable to take part in El Clasico unless it fell on Sunday, October 26th. Now, if Barca coach Luis Enrique decides to play Suarez, it will be the forward’s first official fixture at his new club.

Delight for fans of the Catalans while anti-supporters are not impressed
