Willian scored the only goal in Brazil’s hard-fought win against Ecuador on Tuesday.

It was a pretty even first half at the Metlife Stadium in terms of chances created. Brazil dominated the ball possesion and managed to capitalize their efforts in the 31st minutes with Willian scoring a right-footed goal following an assist from Neymar in a set piece situation.

Ecuador missed the chance to equalize after a shot from Enner Valencia hit the post with 10 minutes to go before the half time whistle. 

The second half was breathtaking, with Ecuador pushing forward to get the equalizer and Brazil trying to take advantage of the open spaces left by their rivals. In the 47th minute Neymar incredibly missed an open goal tap in following a cross from Danilo. In the 61th minute Ecuador almost scored the equalizer but this time Valencia’s header was cleared by the Brazilian defense. 

After that, the match went into a slump with Brazil controlling the possession and Ecuador trying to recover the ball to create a few more chances.
