With the popular game set to come out soon, EA Sports have released their rankings of the top 10 players in this year's edition.

Despite losing out on the Ballon d'Or to perpetual rival Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi nonetheless has been named top player by FIFA.

Except of course, this time, it's for the annual video game produced by EA Sports that has fans all around the globe excitedly awaiting the latest edition, and with the release just around the corner, the company has released its list of the top ten players for this year.

Interestingly, despite CR7's great showings for Real Madrid this past season, in which he set a new record for most goals in a single UCL campaign, he still comes in second behind the four-time Ballon d'Or winner as per the game's rankings.

Although he beat out Messi to the Ballon d'Or and European Golden Shoe, CR7 still ranks 2nd in the game

La Liga's top players are followed by Bayern Munich stars Arjen Robben and Manuel Neuer, who ranks as the highest goalkeeper in the entire game, as well as PSG's Swedish ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a player, who despite his advancing years, seems to be like a fine wine and gets better each season.

Ibra's great showings in France are recognized as he's ranked joint third behind Messi & C. Ronaldo

Although it's billed as "the best league in the world", the Premier League surprisingly has just one representative...and it's perhaps not who many would have expected, with Chelsea's Eden Hazard being the only English-based player to crack the top 10.

Sole representative: Hazard beat out other Premier League stars to make it into the top 10

In fact, the list is dominated by La Liga and Bundesliga players, with Ibrahimovic and Hazard being the only Ligue 1 and Premier League members to feature in this elite group.
