The French international is still mystified at why he failed his Liverpool medical, but now looks forward to featuring for Chelsea.

What a difference a month can make.

In July, French attacker Loic Remy was close to making a switch to Liverpool, only to have the Reds pull the plug on the deal at the last minute. The reason? Apparently the 27-year-old had failed his medical.

Interestingly, nearly exactly four weeks later, Remy got his wish to play Champions League football this season as he was unveiled as a Chelsea player, with the Blues reportedly paying £10.5 million to activate his release clause from QPR.

Yet, despite this dramatic turn of events, the player, who began his professional career in Ligue 1 with Lyon, still has "no idea" what went wrong at Liverpool, despite having failed previous medicals with other clubs as a result of some heart and knee problems.

"[To be honest], I didn't understand it myself, and I really don't know what happened. A problem during [my] medical examination? If that's what [Liverpool] says, then that must have been it," he recently told the Daily Star.

However, Remy, who scored France's winning goal against Spain last week in a friendly, was keen to point out that he has quickly moved on and looks forward to a new challenge with Chelsea.

"I know that I'm not going to be the first [choice] striker, but nothing is set [in stone]," the former Ligue 1 star noted.

"But, in signing [for Chelsea], I'm not here just to sit on the bench. I have goals, and I will try to move up [and improve] alongside great players, and [I feel] the rest will happen naturally."
