The big stars will be missing and the pressures will virtually be nonexistent when Germany takes on Argentina in a friendly.

Germany has spoiled many an Argentine party in recent years. The World Cup Final in 2014 is not yet a distant memory; Argentina will remember the painful misses in normal and extra time while Germany will remember watching a decade of labor come into fruition. This match serves a bigger purpose than simple testing grounds for Joachim Löw of course. It will be Germany's chance to say goodbye to three extremely faithful servants.

Firstly, they will say goodbye to the only retiree they predicted would leave the national scene after the World Cup; Miroslav Klose, an enigmatic striker for Bayern but nothing but successful for Bremen and Germany is stepping down after an international career spanning 13 years. He will be applauded for the final time next to Philipp Lahm. Lahm's retirement was shocking; he was the captain and the irreplacable right back of the team. Löw must now look to alternatives to emulate the Bayern captain's achievements. And finally, Per Mertesacker, one of the faces of the new Germany in 2006, will also receive his final applause for his nation.

Löw, as a result of Lahm's retirement, had to choose a captain. He elected to nominate the most obvious option, Bastian Schweinsteiger. The only doubts about this were caused by the fact that Schweinsteiger is rarely available for friendlies due to injury problems. Manuel Neuer will be captaining the side in Schweinsteiger's absence against both Argentina and Scotland.

Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels, Sami Khedira and Mesut Özil will be absent for Germany. Lionel Messi will not feature for Argentina. The match will also see Gerardo Martino debut as the head coach of Argentina. He will surely have a few butterflies in his stomach although he is usually adept at hiding his feelings.

Tune in for this match! It is surely set to be special!
