26 Chelsea players didn’t find a place in the first team squad for the 2014/15 season, heading out on loan in search of new opportunities.

As incredible as it may seem, Chelsea could have a ‘B’ team better than many Premier League sides made up of players that are currently on loan. These players are distributed across eight countries and some of them haven’t even played a single minute for the club.

Different sources have reported that the ‘Blues’ have invested a total of £100M in 26 players that are not part of the first team at the moment. Fernando Torres, recently loaned to AC Milan, makes half of that sum as his record transfer cost Chelsea £50m.

For this season, Mourinho decided to bring back Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who spent three seasons on loan at Atlético de Madrid. Courtois became Mourinho’s first choice goalkeeper over Petr Cech after his outstanding performances during the last Champions League season and this year’s World Cup. Fellow countryman, Romelu Lukaku, wasn’t that lucky as he ended up being sold to Everton in a deal worth £28m.
