Jorge Jesus has two victories from as many matches, but his latest did not come easy. A 0-1 win over Boavista may not have been their most impressive performance, and adding to that was the injury of Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese international will be out of action until the new year, but the Portuguese manager will be hopeful Enzo Perez returns to the squad.
Having proved to be a pivotal piece to Benfica's midfield, Enzo may find himself in the center of the park alongside new Greek signing Samaris.
Sporting's Marco Silva will be taking part in his first Lisbon Derby, and he'll be wanting to come out on top. The Sporting manager will also be happy with the return of William Carvalho, who was suspended for the club's last match.
The visitors will certainly miss Cedric Soares, who has been injured since the first match of the season. In his place will likely be Ricardo Esgaio, with Marco Silva giving him max confidence.
Sporting's biggest concern will be their offensive unit. Reason being - the leões have not scored at the Estádio da Luz for the Primeira Liga in seven years. Their last goalscorer in this fixture was Liedson.
Adding to that frustration will be the fact that Benfica has not lost at home in 50 matches. Their last defeat was against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Fighting for bragging rights in the capital city on Sunday will bring the country to a screeching halt. Eagles and lions will be out in full force, as they both aim for the full three points.
