The Japanese player may be returning to his previous squad, given he would have no opportunities to play for United this season

After spending the last two years with Manchester United, it seems Shinji Kagawa's days as a Red Devil may come to an end soon. The Japanese midfielder allegedly has signed his return to German side Borussia Dortmund where he made a name for himself in European football.

Kagawa seemed to have earned a spot on Van Gaal's team after their U.S. tour, but opportunities have come short for the player. The Japanese midfielder has only played for 20 minutes this season, during the MK Dons - United game.

His former coach Jurgen Klopp never hid his feelings about the midfielder's return, saying he would welcome Kagawa back "with open arms". According to sources, Kagawa will return to Germany for 8 million euros, after being sought out by Spanish clubs Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

Kagawa may not be the only United player to leave before the transfer window shuts down, since Louis Van Gaal clearly has stated players such as Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley have to make a choice on their departure from Old Trafford.
