The Flying Donkeys welcome the reigning Scudetto champions in Serie A's first match on Saturday, August 30th.

The 2014-2015 Serie A season opens with a clash that can be best described, on paper at least, as one of the most one-sided ones taking place this weekend. Chievo were quite fortunate to escape relegation as their 36 points were just enough to stay ahead of 18th placed Catania. Meanwhile, visitors Juventus racked up nearly three times that figure, and set a new points record in the process as they clinched their third straight Scudetto.

Nonetheless, the hosts are in as good a position as can be, as they are not missing anyone, whether through suspension or injury. This, of course, will be encouraging to Flying Donkeys fans as they know the potentially difficult task that faces them in their league opener.

Massimiliano Allegri's men, on the other hand, will be without several key players: Giorgio Chiellini sits out due to a suspension, while Andrea Barzagli and Alvaro Morata are on the treatment table for respective injuries.

The player however, that will really worry new boss Allegri is Andrea Pirlo. The midfield maestro is set to miss quite a few games this season due to a pulled tendon in his hip and any fan of Italian football knows the influence the 35-year-old has on his side. Then, there is the additional issue of a reported flu virus that had players like Fernando Llorente as well as the coach himself out sick; however, the Spaniard appears to have recovered enough to be included in the squad.
