The ‘Revs’ keep strengthening their squad as they make their second signing in two days.

Currently in 6th place in the Eastern Conference and with their playoff aspirations still alive, the ‘Revs’ confirm their second transfer in just two days as they add Dutch player Geoffrey Castillion to their roster. On Sunday, the New England side was the center of attention after signing USMNT star Jermaine Jones for the next 18 months.

The 23-year-old was born in Amsterdam and has spent his entire career in the Netherlands, playing for different clubs in the Eredivisie. Castillion was formed in the prestigious Ajax Academy but he has struggled to find a place in the first team. As a consequence, he has been loaned several times, ending up playing for clubs like RKC Waalwijk and Heracles Almelo. Early this year, he was transferred to N.E.C. Nijmegen, where he played in 7 matches and scored two goals.

Geoffrey Castillion has also played in Netherlands’ national youth teams at U-17, U-18 and U-19 levels but he hasn’t made his debut with the senior national team yet.

Revolution general manager Michael Burns gave his thoughts on Castillion.

“Geoffrey is a big, strong target forward with several years of experience in the Dutch first division. He will add a different dynamic to our attack and also give us more options up front. Once he finalizes the immigration process, we’re looking forward to getting him right into training.”
