The French attacker is set to miss quite a few games due to a freak injury, according to reports.

This certainly is not the way Arsenal fans would have liked their season to begin.

The Gunners now have a crisis on their hands as their only recognized striker, Olivier Giroud, is set to spend quite a bit of time on the sidelines due to an injury sustained in his team's clash with Everton.

According to French publication L'Equipe (as per 101 Great Goals) the player suffered a freak injury after being struck with the ball and is set to miss at least three months recuperating.

Many had previously expressed their concerns that Arsene Wenger was playing a huge risk by only having one senior attacker within his ranks, and supporters now have reason to be concerned as the tactician's experiment with new signing Alexis Sanchez as a center forward failed miserably.

Although they do have other options in Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo, neither have featured much for the Premier League side and are largely untested as reliable options for the team.

As a result, English reports claim that Wenger now may have to scramble to bring in reinforcements with his main marksman seemingly out of commission, and could affect any potential move for marginalized attacker Lukas Podolski.
