It seemed Arsenal's second match of the season wouldn't have a happy ending. The Gunners trailed 2-0 before halftime after a controversial call by the referees, approving a goal by Steven Naismith who appeared to be offside.
In the second half, Wenger left Alexis Sanchez in the dressing room, giving French striker Olivier Giroud the chance to redeem himself. Giroud, severely criticized by fans, would not disappoint his coach and Arsenal's fanbase.
During the last minutes of the match, Aaron Ramsey managed to score his second goal of the season, after a cross by Santi Cazorla. Seven minutes later, it was Giroud who headed in a cross by Nacho Monreal, giving Wenger's men the well-deserved point.
After the match, Arsenal fans defended their ground on Twitter. Here are some of their reactions for your reading pleasure.
