Former Azzurri player and Juventus coach Antonio Conte will be presented next Tuesday as head coach of Italy's national football team.

Carlo Tavecchio begins his term as president of the Italian Football Federation in a good way as he signs former Juventus manager, Antonio Conte, as the new National Team’s head coach.

After leading Juventus to Serie A glory and winning the ‘Scudetto’ for three consecutive seasons, Conte will now take over a new challenge as Italy’s National Team head coach. The Italian Football Federation via Twitter officially confirmed the news. During his three-year spell at Juve, Conte developed a strong squad and a competitive coaching philosophy.

Under former coach, Cesare Prandelli, the ‘Azzurri’ failed to get through the group stages during the last World Cup in Brazil after beating England and losing against Uruguay and Costa Rica. After that, Prandelli decided to resign as Italy coach, leaving the vacancy available for a new manager. Antonio Conte did the same with Juventus during the summer, leading to speculations about his potential future with the National Team.

According to English sources, Conte, 45, will become the second-highest paid manager in the world, only after Russia’s Fabio Capello. Conte will have a two-year contract, ending on July 31st 2016. His salary will include different bonuses that will be given based on the team’s performance.
