The rivalry between Bundesliga's top two clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, is one of the biggest in the world of football, let alone Germany. There is thus no surprise as to why scoring in one of these games can be a special moment for any player.
But for 25-year-old striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, it was a far more unforgettable moment.
The speedy Gabonese attacker registered a goal in the second half of the DFL_Supercup on Wednesday, being held at the Signal Iduna Park, heading past Bayern Munich shot-stopper Manuel Neuer in the 62nd minute to put Jurgen Klopp's men 2-0 up, the scoreline by which the game ended.
And how the former Saint-Etienne forward chose to celebrate his goal is what grabbed the spotlight. After connecting with the cross from Polish full-back Lukasz Piszczek, Aubameyang decided to do something quite odd, pulling a Spider-Man mask out of his socks and putting it on.

Great goal & better celebration by Aubameyang. A couple months ago, there were reports he was surplus at BVB. Now looks a perfect fit

This, though, was not the first time the Gabonese attacker pulled on the superhero's mask during a goal celebration
The player later revealed the reason behind his outlandish goal celebration, saying that it was message dedicated towards his son, who was born on the same day Borussia Dortmund lifted the 2014 Supercup.
The famous celebration came during BVB's DFL-Supercup clash with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday
It was a trophy Jurgen Klopp's side clinched thanks to a 2-0 triumph
"We're delighted to have made this start to the season and to be in such rhythm. The Spiderman mask was because my son was born today and I wanted to score for him. I think Kevin Großkreutz has the mask now."
