Fans will have to wait longer to see Manchester United's new signing in action, as he will not be able to feature for another couple of weeks.

Earlier this summer, Manchester United raised a few eyebrows when they shelled out £30 million for their latest signing.

The reason? The player costing such a hefty sum is 19-year-old defender Luke Shaw, who only just began his professional career three years ago with Southampton. Indeed, so costly was his signing and subsequent wage packet that Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, who enjoys offering his opinions in the press, waded into the matter.

On the topic concerning the youngster's reported €200,000 weekly wage packet, the Portuguese boss mused that it "would have killed our stability in the dressing room" while also taking note of Financial Fair Play regulations.

Shaw has yet to impress while in a Red Devils kit, after his new coach Louis Van Gaal deemed him unfit to participate in the team's pre-season tour in the United States.
