Carlos Bustos’ team has only won two matches following a contingency plan created by the owner, Jorge Vergara

Crisis clouds appear to be over Guadalajara’s favorite team after their Copa MX defeat yesterday. The red, white and blue team wasn’t able to defeat Coras Tepic, marking their fourth straight defeat. To make matters worse, Coras Tepic is subsidized by Guadalajara, and plays in the Ascenso MX.

Teams that have defeated Chivas include Bayern Munich, Milan and Pachuca. During this run, Guadalajara scored only one goal and have allowed ten. Even though the first two matches were friendly ones, the team’s performance has been way below average than expected.

Last night, Guadalajara faced the Copa MX match with several of their top players, such as Omar Bravo and Antonio De Nigris, but weren’t able to top their “little brothers.” During this match, fans witnessed a goal by former Chivas star Adolfo Bautista, who holds the honor of making the championship-winning goal in Guadalajara’s last title, back in 2006.

Carlos Bustos defended the club’s friendly match tour last week, while pointing out where the problem has been for Chivas:

“We didn’t have what it takes to score goals; it has been our weakness all along. When you get this kind of results, everyone has to be uncomfortable”, he stated.

Chivas have to get back on track as soon as possible, since they are trying to avoid relegation for the first time in 108 years. Meanwhile, the club announced Albert Benaiges as the new Youth Teams head coach. Benaiges was part of La Masia, Barcelona’s source of talents such as Andres Iniesta or Xavi Hernández.
