Reports claim that the former Chelsea attacker has caught the attention of another Premier League side.

With the transfer season winding down, clubs across Europe are looking to make some last-minute purchases before deadline day.

Since the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona earlier this summer, Liverpool have been looking to splash some of their earned cash in an attempt to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

However, for all their spending, one area that it seems that coach Brendan Rodgers wants to improve is his attacking options. The Reds were very close to bringing French international Loic Remy on board, only to see the transfer fall through at the last minute.

A host of players, including PSG's Ezequiel Lavezzi, Milan's Mario Balotelli, Inter's Mauro Icardi, and others have been linked with a move to Anfield, as Rodgers hopes to add more options to support Daniel Sturridge as the focal point of attack.

However, nothing has come of any of these rumored targets and according to English reports, Rodgers has now turned his attention to a more veteran option.

Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o, who is now a free agent after his one-year contract expired, could offer experience, namely in the Champions League which he has won three times, twice with Barcelona, and in 2010 with Inter.

While he is currently 33 years old, and hence is much older than the usual player that Liverpool tends to sign, the same report points to his aforementioned experience on the European stage and could represent a decent back-up option in their return to the Champions League.
