The Gunners ended their trophy drought last season at Wembley, but can they make it two in a row? Watch live on TV and Online as the Gunners go head-to-head with Manchester City live on Sunday, August 10.

The Community Shield may not be a very important for a lot of fans, but for those who are directly involved in it, the match is as important as any other. On Sunday, Wembley Stadium will welcome Arsenal and Manchester City, as the Premier League Champions and the FA Cup winners will go head-to-head.

Both sides will have some new faces in the squad, but the Gunners will also go up against a familiar face.

Bacary Sagna played through the end of his contract with Arsenal, having been free to negotiate with any other club after his contract expired. Negotiations between the Frenchman and the North London side did not end well, with the right-back unable to reach an agreement.

Unfortunately for him, he will only be able to watch from the sidelines. Having been involved in the World Cup, Sagna has been ruled out for Sunday.

Another absence for City will be Alvaro Negredo, who will is sidelined for sometime with a foot injury.

Throughout the week, Arsene Wenger did not have very kind words for Manchester City, after the club signed Frank Lampard on loan. City’s manager dismissed Wenger’s comments, stating that the club has financial restrictions.

“The only thing I can say is that we have important restrictions about the amount of money we can spend, and Frank Lampard was a free player - we didn’t spend any money in bringing him from New York City to Manchester City,” Pellegrini told reporters.

The North London side may be debuting a new face of their own on Sunday. Chile international Alexis Sanchez will likely make his competitive debut for the Gunners at Wembley, in a match where he could be deployed as the loan striker.

Olivier Giroud did feature in the Emirates Cup last weekend, but it was very clear that the Frenchman is still not in top form. That may give Alexis a chance up top, or Arsene Wenger could opt to give Joel Campbell is first competitive appearance as well.

A pivotal piece for Arsenal on Sunday will be the performance of Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman has really improved over the last year, and his confidence on and off the ball could help the Gunners achieve success this season.

“We are going to approach it as if we were approaching the first game of the Premier League,” said Aaron Ramsey when asked about Sunday’s meeting with City.

“It’s a big game for us and we are going to treat it like that.”

Along with many possible debuts, the English FA will also be debuting the vanishing spray which has been used all over South America, and in Brazil during the World Cup.
