Bayern will take on Chivas Guadalajara at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey as they look to attract more fans in the USA.

A trip to the US is definitely not a priority in terms of preparation for a new season, especially one after the World Cup. However, Bayern is seemingly looking to sell itself to fans outside Germany. The club wants a wider audience in the USA. They only recently opened an office in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Now, they will be playing in the home of New York's football club, the New York Red Bulls, in Red Bull Arena.

Bayern will be without the majority of their German contingent as well as Arjen Robben and Dante. The German players and the aforementioned duo are still recovering following lengthy World Cup campaigns. Bastian Schweinsteiger might not be available at the start of the Bundesliga campaign for Bayern. Franck Ribery, however, is back in good health after missing the World Cup due to injury. Robert Lewandowski has started off perfectly in the preseason friendlies. He has already hit a few amazing goals.

Lewandowski and Ribery are set to be the main attractions on Thursday night but one would be wise to keep an eye out for the youngsters such as Lukas Scholl, son of former Bayern star, Mehmet Scholl as well as Gianluca Gaudino, son of Maurizio Gaudino. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one who always puts in a good shift and is pleasant to watch as well.

Also, it will be interesting to see how Pep Guardiola sets the team up. He might go with a three man backline once again although this caused some confusion against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Telekom Cup when Bayern won via penalties. Holger Badstuber has enjoyed a good return following his horrific injury in December 2012. He has captained the team so far. Javier Martinez seems set to remain at the back, at least until Guardiola continues to coach Bayern.
