The veteran Chelsea midfielder has now completed his move to MLS and will join fellow European star David Villa at NYC FC

After much speculation, Frank Lampard has now completed his move to MLS.

The 36-year-old, who is Chelsea's all time leading scorer--an impressive stat for a midfielder--will now be earning over €100,000 per week at the newly created American club and has signed a two year deal.

He will join fellow European star David Villa, who made his move official after leaving Atletico Madrid last month.

Yet another marquee signing: Lampard is now the second star to join the new club after David Villa

The English international, of course, was quick to express his joy at signing up with the club that is also owned by Manchester City's owners, but also to thank everyone for making his decade-plus stay at Stamford Bridge one to remember.

"I had a fantastic 13 years at Chelsea but it was a good time for myself and Chelsea that I moved on.

"Having spoken to people at this club and seen the vision - I've seen a real long-term plan and I want to be part of that. I want to keep testing myself," he stated in a recent press conference.

However, despite colleague Steven Gerrard hanging up his boots at international level, Lampard was non-committal as to whether he'd be making some changes regarding his stint with the Three Lions.

"Now I know where I’m playing my football it won’t be long [before] I make a decision about England."
