Liverpool spend yet again in bolstering their squad with the acquisition of QPR's French striker.

Following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona in a club record deal, Liverpool have wasted little time in splashing the cash as they aspire to quickly rebuild their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Their second place finish in the Premier League means that the Reds will make a return to the Champions League after a hiatus and coach Brendan Rodgers has been especially keen on adding further options to his attack to help Daniel Sturridge.

Reports claim that Loic Remy will come on board for a fee of £8 million after Liverpool agreed to meet a special release clause in his contract which stipulates clubs featuring in the Champions League could have him for the aforementioned designated amount. The player had rejected other clubs such as Tottenham and Newcastle due to his desire to play in Europe's premier continental competition.

According to the Mirror, the French international has put pen to paper on a five-year deal that makes him the fifth signing for Rodgers, who has also acquired Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, and Lazar Markovic.
