The Liga BBVA heavyweights are ready to sell Spanish midfielder Isco in order to fund a move for Colombian ace James Rodriguez

La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly ready to sell Spanish midfielder Isco in an attempt to fund their James Rodriguez chase.

The Colombian star shined at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, scoring six goals in five games, and has a number of admirers on his tail, but the 23-year-old Monaco star openly admittied to preferring the Bernabeu over any other destinations.

Isco, on the other hand, has been through a tough season with Los Blancos after signing on from Malaga only a season back on a €30m fee.

The 22-year-old has found it difficult holding down a starting position in the squad after starting Real Madrid's 2013-14 season on fire, scoring on his debut and registering an assist, but has now witnessed his playing time limited as he has fallen down the pecking order.

Luka Modric, Xabi Alonso, and new arrival Toni Kroos all look guaranteed midfield roles, and with the 10-time Champions League winners close to wrapping up a deal for the World Cup Golden Boot winner, Isco's future at Real Madrid looks grim.

According to Goal, English Premier League champions Manchester City are "closely monitoring" Isco's situation, with the Citizens pondering a loan deal, but claim Liverpool lead the chase for the Spaniard's services.
