MLS fans can tune into NBCSN to catch both the Rapids and Timbers in a Friday evening clash.

NBCSN’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features the Portland Timbers hosting the Colorado Rapids this Friday, July 18th at 11 p.m. ET.

The Rapids, third in the Western Conference, are led by midfielder and 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year Dillon Powers, while forwards Maximiliano Urruti (6 goals) and Gaston Fernandez (6 goals) pace the Timbers.

COMMENTATORS: NBC Sports Group’s lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match joined by former Jamaican national team player Robbie Earle and host Russ Thaler.

Strong on Portland Timbers vs Colorado Rapids: "With how tight the Western Conference is, it's never too early to start paying attention to teams jockeying for playoff positions, and this is a huge game for those purposes. Under first year coach Pablo Mastroeni, and led by Dillon Powers, the Rapids have done very well to be in third place at the halfway mark of the season. The Timbers are under pressure to get this win at home, and with former Premier League defender Liam Ridgewell (West Bromwich Albion) possibly making his debut, the atmosphere will be boiling over as it always is in Portland."
