The French-born Senegalese attacker has departed the Premier League in favor of Turkey's Super Lig in a deal reportedly worth approximately £8 million.

Demba Ba now has become the second Chelsea striker to depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

Following Samuel Eto'o's one-year contract expiring, the Senegalese attacker also has said his good-byes to London and headed east to ply his trade in Turkey.

The 29-year-old was reportedly signed for around £8 million by Beşiktaş, who finished in third place in the Süper Lig last season and are hoping to break the stranglehold that rivals Fenerbache and Galatasaray have held on the league title over the past few years.

New home: The French-born striker now moves to Turkey after spells with Chelsea, Newcastle United, and West Ham

The last time Ba's new club won the title was in 2009, and they are third in terms of total titles won, with 13--behind the aforementioned duo's of 19.

Although he scored some crucial goals for Chelsea, notably a last-gasp winner to fire them through to the semi-finals against PSG, the arrival of Diego Costa surely would have limited his playing time even further.

And, shortly after his unveiling, Ba expressed his excitement at joining up with the Turkish titans:

"I am excited to be here and can't wait to start playing...'I want to showcase my talent to the fans as soon as possible, [as] this is a huge club and I want to become a part of it."

Well, this is certainly a good way to endear himself to the fans!
