The trailer for the movie based on Barca ace Lionel Messi's life has come out. It features many important figures in La Pulga's footballing life

With Lionel Messi being one of the most talented players in football history, many are curious about his childhood, upbringing, and rise to fame.

The trailer for Messi: the Movie has come out. The docudrama, based on the Barcelona ace's life, features cameos from Blaugrana legend Johan Cruyff, Camp Nou team-mates Javier Mascherano, Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique, La Albiceleste boss Alejando Sabella, and many others who are/were a part of his fantastic footballing journey.

The film, directed by Alex de la Iglesia, depicts the 27-year-old's shortcomings and success, his path from a young boy with big dreams, playing in Argentina, to a Barcelona great and all-time leading goalscorer, and the road he took to become the superstar that he is today.

Also, a part of the Argentine's captain's life that is touched in the movie is the hardship and criticism that fell upon him after his South American nation crashed out of the 2010 World Cup, with La Pulga being singled out for his poor performance in South Africa.

Although Messi has guided the two-time World Cup champions into the 2014 final in Brazil, courtesy of a penalty shootout triumph over Netherlands, back in 2010 the player failed met expectations, especially with the constant comparison between him and La Albiceleste legend Diego Maradona.
