ESPN’s month-long coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will continue with the quarterfinals, beginning Friday, July 4, with France vs. Germany at 11:30 a.m. ET on ESPN2.

Jon Champion and Stewart Robson will call the action from Rio de Janeiro, while Mark Donaldson and Tommy Smyth will describe the match for ESPN Radio. France will make its first appearance in the quarterfinals since 2006, while Germany will look to reach the semifinals for a record fourth consecutive World Cup.  Later Friday, host nation Brazil will face Colombia in Fortaleza at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN with Ian Darke and Steve McManaman providing commentary, while Ross Dyer and Shep Messing describe the action for ESPN Radio.

On Saturday, July 5, four-time FIFA World Player of the Year Leo Messi and Argentina will face Belgium on ABC (11:30 a.m.).  Both squads are coming off late-game victories in extra time.  Also Saturday, Netherlands will play the last CONCACAF team in the tournament, Costa Rica, at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN. Each quarterfinal match will also be available on ESPN3, WatchESPN or WATCH ABC, and ESPN Radio.

Also this weekend, Major League Soccer returns to action with defending MLS Champion Sporting Kansas City vs. Chicago Fire on Sunday, July 6, at 3 p.m. on ESPN. Sporting Kansas City is the home of 2014 FIFA World Cup U.S. Men’s National Team members Matt Besler and Graham Zusi.
