Barcelona's player-plus-cash Luis Suarez move has taken a huge blow as Alexis Sanchez opts against a Liverpool move in favor of another English Premier League club

Barcelona's Chilean ace Alexis Sanches looks to dish out a transfer deal blow to the Catalan side's hopes of signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Liga BBVA side are planning on offering the 25-year-old attacker plus £40m to tempt the English Premier League club to sell Barcelona their Uruguayan striker.

But now, the former Udinese man is set to spoil Barcelona's plans as reports suggest that Sanchez prefers to join Brendan Rodgers' side's league rivals Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger's chase of a world-class forward is well known and with the long-serving Frenchman currently in Brazl as a pundit, his eye has been caught by the Chilean's displays and is now preparing a move with La Roja ace keen to join Arsenal in search of more first team action.

But what if current Capital One Cup and Barclays Premier League champions Man City hijacked a possible transfer for Sanchez to the Emirates Stadium? Spanish football expert Graham Hunter was quoted as saying by talkSport:

Caught Offside even go as far as to report that the North London side are ready to meet Barcelona's £32m price tag and have agreed personal terms with Sanchez, and that the attacker could possibly wear the number 9 jersey given Lukas Podolski vacates it with an Emirates Stadium departure.

The four-time Champions League winning club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu did admit to receiving bids for Alexis Sanchez, though claiming they would not entertain the thought of selling the Chilean.

"He's a player there in the market that people have got an eye on but he's our player for the moment and he's a basic member of the way our team plays," said Bartomeu.
